Dear Officers of the Dutch Chapter of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology,
Despite the efforts and success of several important projects, the harmonized application of neuroimaging biomarkers derived from large imaging consortia represents still considerable challenges. With Giovanni Frisoni, Jorge Jovicich, and others, we have been participating in an EU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND) working group that aims at identifying current harmonization “barriers” in the context of MRI/PET/EEG biomarkers for neurodegenerative disease studies (http://www.sra-ned.org/). The purpose of this call is to generate community-driven recommendations for funding actions that address those “barriers”.
In this framework, we have developed a simple survey that will help us to gather information from relevant communities (neuroimaging consortia, industry, researcher & medical associations) about various possible barriers. The survey will be open up to March the 31st at the following link:
With this email, we kindly invite you to:
1) Complete this survey for the EEG biomarkers. Furthermore, it would be nice if you can email me your expert comments, suggestions, and recommendations about how to remove the “barriers” preventing an exploitation of EEG biomarkers in the main international observational and clinical trials carried out in patients with neurodegenerative diseases.
2) Forward the survey link and the present invitation to your Colleagues, Coworkers, and Contacts using the EEG biomarkers in observational and clinical trials in patients with neurodegenerative diseases.
3) Permit us mentioning that the Board of your distinguished Society sent us its expert inputs on the survey and topic in the object.
Of course, we will share with you the results of the survey as soon as we analyse the data after the deadline of March the 31st.
